Keeping The Sho

Talk about anything related to SHO's

Postby ScotSHO » Thu Jul 31, 2003 6:04 pm

I finally signed up... I'm liking the content here already!

OK, I've finally gotten my new daily driver - a 98 Expedition (4x4 for the snow!). In doing so, I've determined that I'm keeping my 95. I was on the fence about selling it before, but I still need my dose of secondaries every once in a while!

Plus, I've got an 18 gallon fuel tank to put in my SHO. That will be a fun winter project. Here I come - 400+ miles between fillups.

Good decision. You really can't beat the performance for the price of these used sedans. On the flip side, you really can't get much money when you go to sell either. <_<

Plus, that tax credit i just got in the mail from George W helps keep the "for fun only" car in the driveway! For some reason, I don't think that was the intent of the tax break - but hey, I'll stimulate Shonut's business some more and turn the whole economy around single handly!!!! :D

Cool to see you're hanging on to the SHO. But this gas tank thing...I thought (at least the GEN II's) all SHO's had the bigger 18 gallon tank. My SHO has an 18 gallon tank and so did my 95. In fact I can verufy that my current SHO has an 18 gallon tank. My digital dash will say 3 gallons. I go and fill up and put like 14.5 gallons in. It will then read "F". Next step down is 17 gallons. Good luck anyways on your tank install. ;)

I'm pretty sure SHO's came with the 18 gallon tank. Maybe the one in your car is not original?

Nope, mine has the smaller tank (16 gallon). In 95, Ford unloaded all the parts bins, and some of the 95 SHOs ended up with SLO rear sway bars, SLO small gas tanks, SLO rear springs. My SHO is one of the last V6 SHOs built (4-95), and I got lots of SLO parts. Luckly, they didn't skimp under the hood. :D
